1 large onion.

2 tins of chickpeas, washed.

390g passata.

2 tbsp of cooking oil.

2 tbsp of Simple Honest Masala.

1 tsp cumin seeds.

1 chopped clove of garlic.

Dried chillies to taste.

Add the oil to a large, hot pan.

Add the cumin seeds and fry until they go dark brown.

Add onions, garlic, chilli and fry until onions are translucent.

Add chickpeas.

Pour in the passata.

Stir in the Simple Honest Masala.

Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 15 mins, stirring occasionally.

Remove lid, turn up the heat and reduce down until you have the desired thickness of sauce.

Remember to stir, or the chickpeas will stick to the base of the pan.

Let it rest for 5 mins.

Serve with basmati rice, naan and a large Hendricks and Fever Tree….

Simple Honest Chana Masala…done.
